Spanish Day
Last Wednesday we celebrated Spanish Day in school. Teachers in all subjects used Spanish in lessons and there was a quiz in tutorial time.

Children in Need
Last Friday we had a wide range of activities and events in school to raise money for Children in Need. We asked students and staff to wear something yellow (in exchange for a payment) and the students themselves came up with a range of other imaginative ways to raise money for this really important cause – several even took part in a sponsored silence! We had a Teddy Crèche in the LRC which brought in over £40.00. Also special thanks to Ms. Peckett, who was guest speaker reading Kipling’s ‘Just So’ stories at lunchtime to pupils. Our student Leaders, led by Head Girl Lucy Rogan, also collected £238.76 on the day. The school raised £801.31 in total - we are really proud of our students in showing such a positive attitude in thinking about others.

School Production
Congratulations to all 72 students involved in this year’s school production of ‘Disco Inferno.’ It was a huge success, so well done for all your hard work over the past two and a half months. We are extremely proud of how the cast took on such a big show - you are a credit to Oulder Hill. We would also like to thank everyone who came to see the show – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Psychology Trip
Our Year 13 Psychology students attended a student conference last week in Manchester run by the Phillip Allen agency. An informative and fun-filled day was had by all and the students particularly enjoyed the last session Hypnosis.

Science ISA
Could parents and carers of Year 11 students please note that the GCSE ISA tests will run for all Core and Additional Science students on Monday 7 December. Students should study ‘How Science Works’ and ISA keywords to make sure they achieve as highly as they can in the tests. Thank you for your support in this.

Football
Our Year 7 girls’ football team has enjoyed much success recently. Having beaten Siddal Moor by one goal to nil and St. Cuthberts by two goals to one, they narrowly lost against Hollingworth and Middleton. This means however that they came third overall out of all Rochdale schools, which is a fantastic achievement. Well done to Frankie Bagshaw (Captain), Demi Hogarth, Rosie Shaw, Judith Yung, Laraib Afzal, Safina Ishfaq and Lucy Moore.
