Man arrested over death of David Taylor

Detectives investigating the death of David Taylor, who was killed in a road traffic collision in Heywood on Monday 26 June 2006, have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 22-year-old man from Middleton was arrested on Tuesday, 6 March 2007, and was released on bail pending further inquiries until 2 May 2007.

Police are continuing to appeal for people to come forward with any information about this incident.

Just before 2.15am on Monday 26 June 2006, David James Taylor (born 28/05/82) of Bury Old Road, Heywood was crossing Market Street, Heywood, with a friend when he was in collision with a car, believed to be a silver Mercedes A Class. He had pushed his friend out of the way of the car just before it collided with him.

David suffered serious injuries to his head and upper body and was taken to Fairfield General Hospital for treatment. He died in hospital on Tuesday 27 June 2006.
