The Christmas season has now arrived and parents should have received a copy of the Christmas Timetable including plays, parties and the carol service. Specific details about the events will be sent out closer to the actual days.

Next week is busy as usual: Year 1 are going to the CLC at Falinge all day Monday. A packed lunch has been organised for the children. On Tuesday it is the football presentation assembly where children who managed to get sponsorship for the penalty shoot out will be given their rewards. On Thursday there is a Reading and Phonics Workshop from 2.00 until 3.00pm for the Reception Class papernts though all are welcome, and on Friday Chris Taylor is out visiting assembly speaker who will be talking to the children about the launch of the School Travel Implementation Strategy, which is a posh way of saying we are concerned about the traffic congestion and want to do something about it. Sadly there are still many parents ignoring the ‘safer parking’ rules resulting in growing complaints from the school neighbours and a likelihood of a serious accident.

On Thursday the PTA are holding a Ladies Evening, tickets are £2.50 and the evening has been planned around helping with the Christmas season. There will be cut price high street fashion, River Island, Per Una, Monsoon etc and opportunities to buy purses, handbags and jewellery. The PTA have also managed to organise a vendor to weigh in unwanted gold and release the cash. Please come along, there will be make up stalls, gift ideas and a licensed bar to help you relax. All proceeds from the evening will go to YOUR children.

Well done to the children who were presented by Barrie Whitehead from Water4Kids with the Achievement Award last week.
