Groundwork Volunteer, Manju Kiran shows-off his cookery skills
Monday 30 November sees the start of three Christmas themed ‘Can Cook Will Cook’ events, at the Heady Hill Community Centre in Heywood.
These cooking taster sessions will take place on Monday’s from 12.30pm to 2.30pm to provide people of any cooking ability an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, have fun and enjoy a free lunch.
Skills 4 U are working with Groundwork’s v challenge volunteers to bring these special Christmas Cooking sessions to Heywood.
Jo Fullman, Project officer at Skills 4 U, said: “These sessions were made possible by the dedication of our volunteers Bradley and Manju. I am really proud of the hard work they have put in to organising the events and look forward to joining in the sessions.”
Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale have previously organised Can Cook Will Cook events with v challenge volunteers during the summer. They were highly successful attracting 17 adults to the sessions so it is great news that this is being extended to Heywood.
Bradley Midda, volunteer at Groundwork, said: “Cooking is a very important activity this Christmas, it is a great way to impress family and friends, these events will give you some new recipes to try for free.”
For more information these cooking sessions please call into the Skills 4 U Office, Market Street, or call 01706 367 804.
