Don’t miss the primary school application deadline
Date published: 18 November 2009
Parents risk their children missing out on a primary school place if they do not submit an application by Friday 27 November.
Children born between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006 are due to start school in September 2010 and there is now only a week left to return application forms stating their three preferred choices.
Last year, over 600 parents either didn’t submit or were late with their application which can lead to their child not being offered a place at their first choice school.
Councillor Ali, Cabinet Member for Children. Schools and Families at Rochdale Borough Council said: “It’s really important that parents do not miss this deadline and understand that the council needs an application form from every child who is due to start school next September. Parents who apply on time will find out in March 2010 which school their child has been offered a place at.”
Parents can apply online or request a form by phoning 01706 925982.
