Campaign to repatriate former soldier facing death penalty
Date published: 15 November 2009
The family of a former soldier who is facing the death penalty in Iraq have stepped up their campaign to have him brought back to the UK.
Danny Fitzsimons, 33, of Middleton is accused of the murder of two ArmorGroup colleagues in Baghdad's Green Zone.
His supporters say he suffers from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of tours of Kosovo and Iraq.
About 100 people attended a meeting in Bury to rally support for his case.
