Our Ofsted Inspection has now finished and school is really pleased with the way it has all gone. The report will be published in 15 working days. Thank you to all the parents for their support.

Friends/PTA Meeting
Our next PTA meeting is Monday 16 November at 6.30pm in the staffroom. Please come along – everyone welcome.

School Meals
The menus have changed slightly for the winter months – there is a copy of the menus on the school portal – you can find them in the newsletter folder. They are on a three-weekly basis – next week will be ‘Week 3’.

Until Friday 27 November the government are funding school meals for ALL Reception children.

Christmas Fair
This year’s Christmas Fair is on Friday 4 December. We are now collecting donations of books, toys, good as new, etc. so a good time to have a clear-out.

Year 6 Science Club Science Club for Year 6 will be starting shortly on a Wednesday. Can any interested children please speak to Miss Petrie.

Castleton Children’s Centre
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s School every Wednesday morning 9.00am-10.15am. It has been really well attended and there are lots of activities for the children to do.

South African Evening
We are having a South African open evening for all the community in school on Thursday 19 November at 3.30pm in the school hall – please come and join us.

South African Visitors We are having a visit by three teachers from our partner school in Pretoria, South Africa. They are arriving on Sunday 6 December for a week’s visit and we are looking forward very much to their visit. They will be taking part in lots of activities and team teaching in school.

Pantomime The whole school are going to see Mother Goose at Oldham Coliseum on Monday 23 November. The cost will be £10 per child. Your child has received a letter today – please return the permission slip and money to school by Monday 16 November – we need to let the kitchen know as soon as possible how many packed lunches are needed.

Children In Need
We are having a non-uniform day on Friday 20 November towards Children In Need. No football kits, make-up or jewellery please. Can children please bring a donation of 50p towards this charity.
