Have your say on what Middleton council does

Date published: 09 November 2009

There’s a chance for Middleton residents to have their say this week – and ask questions about the work of the council and police.

Middleton’s township committee takes place on Thursday 12 November at the Middleton Arena on Corporation Street in the town at 6.15pm.

The meeting will start with an open forum where residents can raise local issues and ask questions of councillors and council officers – as well as a representative of Greater Manchester Police.

This month’s issues cover everything from planning strategy and housing to plans to build new primary schools and the council’s finances and charges for services from April 2010.

Copies of agendas are available from Middleton Library and the council’s customer service centre on Sadler Street, as well as online. The agenda highlights are:

• Outdoor Gym in Middleton Township
• Future considerations of Bowlee car boot sale
• Hollin/Hillcrest – Traffic Regulation Orders
• Middleton Township Plan Priorities for 2010/2011
• Consultation of the Review of Discretionary Fees and Charges 2010/11
• Consultation on Budget 2010/11 – 2012/13
• Consultation on the council’s Housing Allocations Policy
• Consultation on Primary School Capital Programme
• Consultation on Renaissance Masterplan
• Consultation on a borough-wide Older Persons Strategy

If you would like to ask a question during the open forum you can speak to the township office so that we can ensure we can answer you in full on the night.

To speak to someone about asking questions or for further details on the agenda items please contact the township office on 0845 602 4993
