Rochdale Muslim community welcome Sheikh al Ninowy
Date published: 09 November 2009
Hundreds attended a conference on 1 November at Gracie Fields in Rochdale to listen to Shaykh Muhammad Al Ninowy and Shaykh Zahir. Global Peace & Unity Nasheed winner Kamal Uddin also attended the event.
The theme of the event was focused on unity. The event was organised by Rochdale’s Deen 4 All. Shaykh Muhammad Al Ninowy flew in from Atlanta USA for the conference. The Shaykh’s studies and teachings have come directly from father to father all the way down to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)'s teachings to his daughter Fatima Azzahra (RA).
Also in attendance was Shaykh Zahir who has built his reputation across the country as one of the leading lecturers on inspiring young people to transform their neighbourhoods into communities. Completing the line up was Kamal Uddin who was voted the Nasheed artist of the year at the recent Global Peace & Unity Event.
Razwan Razzack of Deen for All commented “All three guests have dedicated their careers in delivering a message of unity and peace. To have all three under one roof was exciting. Those who attended were not left disappointed. He added “we want to as always thank Gracie Fields staff for their generous support.”
Councillor Mohammad Sharif the Cabinet Portfolio holder for Community Cohesion was present amongst representatives from various Mosques and community groups. He said “Shaykh al Ninowy is regarded as amongst the most honoured and learned scholars from within the Muslim community. He is one of the most caring human beings you could ever wish to meet. It was my privilege to meet these three ambassadors for our community. To have them in Rochdale was excellent and with so many young people in attendance notwithstanding the awful weather conditions says so much for their popularity”.
Deen 4 All will issue a recording of the event on their website within the next four weeks.
