Officers accused of bullying
Date published: 28 October 2009
Eight police officers working at Rochdale police station have been transferred following accusations of bullying.
An Asian male officer at the station made a formal complaint, saying that he had suffered harassment for 18 months.
Greater Manchester Police are investigating the claims.
Three sergeants and five police constables have been moved to other stations in the region.
Rochdale's Chief Superintendent John O'Hare said: "We take reports of bullying and harassment very seriously and have referred this to the Professional Standards Branch so a full and independent investigation can be conducted."
