Date published: 26 February 2007
Rebecca Bernard - 3 year Anti-Social Behaviour
Rebecca Bernard of 9 Gloucester Avenue, Rochdale was made the subject of a 3 year Anti-Social Behaviour Order by Rochdale Magistrates Court - this is the second Anti-Social Behaviour Order made against Bernard.
Bernard, aged 18, has been involved in a catalogue of anti-social behaviour and criminal activities in and around Wardle and Littleborough, but particularly on Gloucester Avenue. The behaviour included harassment and intimidation, loud music, large group of youths congregating at her property, drunken and rowdy behaviour, verbal abuse and public order offences.
Following reports of nuisance from residents of Gloucester Avenue, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing's Legal Services and Enforcement Team worked closely with tenants, the Local Housing Office and the Police, to collect evidence to secure the Order.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Order prohibits Bernard from:
- Acting in an anti-social manner
- Playing loud music between the hours of 10pm and 7am on Sunday night to Thursday night inclusive and 12pm Midnight to 8am on Friday night to Saturday night inclusive.
- Associating in public with named individuals within the curtilage of her property on 9 Gloucester Avenue and in public places.
- Congregating in a group of three or more, in a manner causing or likely any person to fear for their safety.
- Approaching, threatening, intimidating or communicating directly or indirectly with any residents of Gloucester Avenue.
- Encouraging or inciting others to carry out any of the prohibited acts on her behalf.
Rebecca Bernard has caused extensive harassment, alarm and distress to the residents of Gloucester Avenue for a period of over 6 months. The Order has been sought to protect the residents of Gloucester Avenue and surrounding areas from further anti-social acts by her.
