The School closed on Friday (23 October) and will reopen on Monday 2 November.

Springhill's Greenpower racing team enjoyed a fantastic weekend away at the Goodwood motor circuit to compete in the Greenpower National final. Enduring a frosty night in a tent, the team rose fresh to arrive at Goodwood Motor circuit just after 9.00am on the Sunday morning. Before the 1.00pm race time the team were able to have a close look at an F1 car, a solar powered car, some electric bikes and the 'Blood Hound' rocket car.

75 cars set off at 1pm on a sunny day in the South of England, with Springhill's Zen car in 25th place on the grid. The car and pit crew put in a fantastic performance finishing 16th whilst covering a distance of 96 miles.

The highlight of the day was the team winning the 'National Final - Best pit stop' award.

A big thank you must go to all the Springhill Technology Department, Ms Fitton, Mr Smith from Zen internet, all our sponsors and especially the students in the racing team.

Year 11 boys had a good win against St Annes Academy to take them to 2nd in the league. Year 7 and 9 also played them. Year 8 boys had a fixture against Holy Family.

Year 8 & 9 girls and Years 7-11 boys have competed in a badminton tournament. An outstanding performance from Hafsa Shahid in Year 9 who won all her games.

Years 7-10 netball teams were in action against Wardle. Last week they travelled to St Cuthberts. All teams are competing and progressing well. Keep up the good effort girls!

Staff and students have entered the Concept 2 League. This is a rowing competition that sees teams competing against each other from all around the world. Good luck everyone!
There will be a joint Open Evening for Parents and Guardians of Year 7 and Year 10 Students on Wednesday 4 November between 6pm and 8pm.

GCSEs in Maths, English and Science will be taking place in November. Year 10 and Year 11 pupils involved will have been given a timetable and should be in school and ready to start their exams at 9.00am with the correct equipment.
