Bar staff put Hospice first

Date published: 26 October 2009

Staff from The Regal Moon in Rochdale town centre are holding a raffle with all money raised going towards Springhill Hospice.

The pub won a ‘Best Bar None’ Award at the Rochdale Town Centre Business Awards 2009, which took place in September. They were rewarded with £500 prize money, which was funded by sponsors, RMBC’s Community Safety, with the only stipulation that it had to be spent in Rochdale town centre.

Staff decided to purchase prizes for a big Halloween raffle that they will be hosting on Saturday (31 October). They spent their money in a number of town centre shops and prizes include an MP3 player, widescreen TV and vouchers from Independent specialist stores such as Chantilly and 25Ten Boutique.

Chris Riley, Manager of The Regal Moon, said: “I’m really proud of my staff for choosing to donate the money to such a fantastic cause. The prize draw will take place on Saturday, and all the staff will be getting into the Halloween Spirit with fancy dress. We’ll also be celebrating our 12th anniversary of being in the town centre.”

Tickets for the raffle are available from the bar at the Regal Moon now.
