Serious disturbance in Littleborough

Reports of a serious disturbance outside Newline taxis in Littleborough on Saturday night/early hours of Sunday morning (17/18 March). Allegedly up to 30 youths fighting in the street resulting in one serious injury and police having to use truncheons.
Officers attended the scene and arrested three men, aged in their late teens to early twenties, on suspicion of public order offences. A fourth man was arrested the next day, on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
A 23-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both from Rochdale, were subsequently served with a fixed penalty notice for public order offences. The remaining two men were bailed pending further inquiries.
