Saint Cuthbert High School
We had a wonderful evening of song, movement and speech at our annual Primary Arts Festival yesterday (Tuesday 20 October). Congratulations to every child from all our feeder primary schools who took part and wowed us with their outstanding talent and enthusiasm.
Welcome back to our Year 8 pupils who spent three days in Lindisfarne, where St Cuthbert spent most of his life, studying the local area and its history as well as taking part in group work activities and spiritual experiences.
St John’s Year 5 children enjoyed a very busy morning in our new Partnership Learning Centre, producing promotional flyers for their school. All of the children used Microsoft Publisher for the first time and the material produced was excellent; it will definitely be used back in school.
We are very proud and pleased with how our Year 7 learners have managed the transition to high school. Many learners have been entered into the ‘Stars in Your Form’ competition, where they have to display excellent behaviour, attendance and a caring Christian attitude towards their peers to be selected. A draw will take place and one boy and one girl will become Form Superstars and will receive a gift voucher. Postcards have already been sent home informing parents/carers of their child’s achievements.
“You have to be in school to win” - Congratulations to Krzysztof Skierniewski form 7.6 our weekly attendance challenge winner. Congratulations also to form 7.7 with an attendance figure of 99%.
All Year 10 and Year 11 students are sitting Mathematics modules on Friday 13 November. We have purchased Revision Guides and packs of practise papers which normally cost £4.50, but we can provide them for £4 (available in the department) on a first come, first served basis.
