Deeplish Primary School

How lovely the children looked in their new clothes when they came in to school on Tuesday morning. Everyone had enjoyed their Eid Ul Fitr celebrations in lovely weather.
Miss Regan’s and Mrs Roberts’ classes experienced life in a Victorian classroom when they went to Touchstones museum and encountered teachers Mr and Miss Grim! They had a go at writing with slate pens and nibs with ink and took part in classroom exercises. Much different to school as it is now!
Our year 6 children enjoyed themselves and learned valuable information about what to do in an emergency and how to get hold of the emergency services when they travelled to “Crucial Crew” in Bury on Tuesday afternoon. Behaviour was up to its usual high standards – thank you!
Our new school kitchen excelled itself on Wednesday when they catered for 217 children plus staff at the special Eid meal. Thank you to Michelle, the kitchen staff and Mrs Parveen who helped design the menu - we all enjoyed it!
Our Karate club started this week and will run for five weeks until half term. Sensei Davies is always on the look out for new members.
Elections for the new school council are now finished. Congratulations to Sidrah, Hamzah, Mira, Yasir, Zainab, Osama, Jawairiya, Danyal, Mohsin and Zainab. We are sure you will do a great job for the school; our first meeting will be next Tuesday.
Attendance awards went to Mrs Roberts’ and Mrs Afzal’s classes. Early birds this week were Mrs Akhtar’s, Miss Regan’s and Mrs Roberts’ classes. Mrs Roberts' class qualified for a book prize for getting two awards. Well done!
