Healey Primary School
Thank you for all the returned voting slips for the governor elections. We had a very good response to this important role.
The PTA have decided this year to hold a Family Halloween Party rather than a Christmas Party, this is to eliminate clashes with other family Christmas events. The Halloween Party will be disco, games and activities with a potato pie supper included in the ticket price of £3.50 for adults and £1.50 for children. There will be prizes for the best costumes. Please apply for tickets as soon as possible to help with catering numbers. Applications received after 9th October will have to be refused.
On Monday Year 6 are going to Falinge for the Taster Day, they will be spending the full day there and will need to wear school uniform. Children should make their own way there and back so parents will need to check their own arrangements. On Tuesday there is an informal ‘drop-in’ session for Year 6 parents regarding questions and queries about transfer to secondary school, this is from 5.30pm until 6.30pm. On Wednesday all children will be taking part in Skip2BFit as part of our Healthy School work. Be warned….parents are expected to join in at home!
The Harvest Festival is on Thursday at 11am, and we will be asking for donations of packet and tinned goods, as usual, to be taken to the Booth Centre for the homeless in Manchester.
Children from years 3,4,5 and 6 will be bringing home a letter about the Theatre Workshop. The contribution towards this should be returned to school by Friday, 9th October.
Well done to the following children who gained the award last week:
- Year 1 Thomas Busfield
- Year 2 Louis Horne
- Year 3 Curtis Priestley
- Year 4 Dominic Whitehead
- Year 5 Luke Jenkinson
- Year 6 Kaitlyn Walker.
The 100% attendance cup went to Year 2.
All parents should have received a letter about Parents Evenings. Parents are asked to return appointment request as soon as possible.
