Shirley Williams is appointed to PCT Board

Shirley Williams, a Heywood resident has been appointed to serve as a Non Executive Director of Heywood Middleton and Rochdale Primary Care Trust for the period ending 28 Feb 2009. Ms Williams will be remunerated at the rate of £7,500 per annum and will become instrumental in assisting the PCT to meet its challenging agenda in the years ahead.
Ms Williams has worked in the community developmental roles for approximately ten years both for the voluntary sector and in the public sector; previously working as an Assistant Township Manager for Heywood, before the merger of Heywood amp; Middleton and Rochdale PCT she was a Non-Executive member for Heywood amp; Middleton PCT.
Shirley is currently working in a voluntary capacity as the development manager for a project in central Manchester. The project’s aim is to develop a sustainable community resource offering training and employment opportunities to local residents.
All non-executive appointments are by the Appointments Commission which is an independent body that specialises in board level appointments and acts on behalf of a wide range of public bodies. In line with the Nolan principles for the Standards of conduct required for public appointees, Ms Williams has not declared any political interests or activities.
John Pierce, Chairman of Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale PCT said: “We welcome Shirley because she brings a wealth of experience in helping to shape the NHS always with the benefits for local people in mind. It is nice to have a Heywood resident on board.”
