Healey Primary School

The Peace Day observation held on Monday was a super start to the week. The children had a short assembly followed by a ring of peace in the playground where all the children joined hands whilst we flew a peace kite. The children have made peace doves placing their own personal messages inside the origami birds. The birds are now on display in the dining hall. This is the first year Healey has marked Peace Day.

Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award last Friday:

Year 1: Hannah Khan
Year 2: Monica Mohammed
Year 3: Callum Howlett
Year 4: Kate Hemmings
Year 5: Jenna Oldham
Year 6: Joshua Brady

Again, there were two classes who achieved 100% attendance: Reception (what a good start!) and Year 1 who have now managed this two weeks running. Well done.

The Reception Class will start full days from Monday and a text reminder will be sent out about this. The Reception Class will then host a Grandparents Afternoon on Wednesday, 2.30 until 3.15. All Grandparents are welcome.

After School Activity timetable is now up and running. The after school cookery club for Year 5 and 6 will commence next Thursday for 6 weeks.

The week will end with Story Magic Theatre on Friday who will be performing Pinocchio for the whole school.

Well done to Mrs Proctor who achieved the highest rating in kitchen inspection. Healey was one of only three schools to achieve the gold standard ‘E’ grade. Thank you too for all the positive feedback regarding the new lunchtime menus, the children are very impressed.
