PTA Meeting/AGM
Our PTA/AGM meeting is next Monday 28 September 6.30pm – please come along and help to support the PTA to raise extra money for your children - we always welcome new parents. If you would like to be considered for the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer or Secretary but cannot attend the meeting, please contact school with your nomination.

School Visitor
In June 2009 we won the Regional Finals for DCFS Sustainable Teaching Award and have been short-listed to the final three for the whole country. To celebrate our huge success Roger Ellis, the Chief Executive of Rochdale Council will be having a tour of the school grounds with the eco-committee on Tuesday.

Castleton Children’s Centre
[0-5years old]
The ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s School every Wednesday morning 9am-10.15am – there is no charge for these sessions.

Reception Need...
If anyone has any brightly coloured old umbrellas, Reception would like them for a Keyword Display. Thank you.

Stick Insects
If anyone is interested in giving a home to the Stick Insects, please contact school.

Baby Chicks
We have five new baby chicks in school which the children are helping to look after.

We Need...
If anyone has any cardboard cheese spread boxes, we need them for an activity in the library – these can be handed in at the school office. Thank you.

Contact Forms
Please send contact forms back into school as soon as possible. We need these forms to update our system in case of emergencies.

Year 6 Transfer Forms
Transfer forms for secondary school need to be brought back into school as soon as possible.

September Intake
Forms for September 2010 Intake are now available at school.

New Parents Open Day
There are two open days for new parents on 24 September and 15 October at 10am.

Lunchtime Clubs
Games Club, Knitting Club and sewing clubs have now started at lunchtimes.

Wizard of Oz
We have CDs for sale at the school office of the performance from July.

Health Week
Next week is Health Week and the curriculum will incorporate activities associated with this theme. Some of the activities will involve outside visits – please make sure all permission slips are returned so your child can take part. Thank you.

Book Fair
The Book Fair starts on Thursday in the hall before and after school and will run until the following Tuesday.

Harvest Festival
We are having a whole school service at St. Martin’s Church on Monday 5th October at 10.30am. Can children please bring donations of tins or packet food. Thank you.

Kingswood
The Kingswood trip was very successful. All the children were really well behaved and had a lovely time.

Morrison’s Vouchers
We are now collecting Lets Grow vouchers from Morrisons.
