All our children have settled back into school after the summer holidays. Welcome back to everyone and a special welcome to our new Reception children who have made a great start.

Caldertots recommences on Thursday afternoons and we look forward to lots of pre-school children and their parent(s)/carers attending. Caldertots commences at 1.45pm until 3.15pm.

Year 5 and Year 3 completed Road Safety courses this week, helping them to stay safe.

Our two Year 6 School Councillors have attended Rochdale Young People’s Forum this week, helping to contribute to the local community.

Year 6 have been learning about Lethal Litter in Queen’s Park as part of the LEAF activities this year. Next week Years 4 & 5 will also be attending LEAF activities.

Our full range of after school clubs is now up and running including fossil club, drama club, football, basketball, netball, cross country, ICT, recorders, choir, art & craft and cookery club and soon our film club and dance club will be back up and running.

Thanks to all our parents for supporting our new pre-ordering lunch system. It is proving a great success, cutting queuing times and making sure all our children get exactly the food they want.

Thanks to all our Reception parents for attending our Induction Meeting on Wednesday evening.

We would like to invite parents from Year 1 to Year 6 to attend our Phonics/Reading Evening on Thursday 24 September (6.30pm for Key Stage 1 and 7.00pm for Key Stage 2) where teachers will explain how we teach phonics and reading and ways in which parents can support their children at home.

Manchester City Football Club spent Thursday afternoon coaching Years 1 and 2. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
