Healey Primary School
A letter has been sent out with an update on the Autumn Term, a parent governor election form, a holiday list and dates for the autumn term diary. If you have not received this letter please contact the school.
Reception children are in with lunch from Monday. Dinner money needs to be paid on Monday please; £8.50 for the week. If you are in receipt of free school meals and have not let the office know please call in and make sure we have your details. Morning session children can be collected from 12.30pm and the afternoon session children need to be brought at 11.30am.
On Monday 21 September it is the UN Peace Day and (weather permitting) we will all go outside and fly paper doves.
Year 6 parents are reminded to keep an eye on the dates for secondary school open evenings. We would encourage parents to visit as many secondary schools as possible during this time. Year 6 will also be accessing the Falinge Park taster day on 5 October. We will be holding an informal ‘drop in session’ on Tuesday 6 October at 6.00pm for queries regarding secondary transfer before the submission date of 23 October.
Well done to Years 1 and 5 who achieved 100% Attendance for the first week in school. We also have Tony the fish and his 5 flipper friends that all look very keen on maintaining excellent attendance. Hopefully we will be able to maintain attendance levels of over 98% throughout the year.
The first Achievement Awards of the year were handed out on Friday as well as School Council and ECO Friend badges to newly elected members:
Year 1: Charlotte Bonde
Year 2: Tom Howarth
Year 3: Sofia Riley
Year 4: Zac Chadwick
Year 5: Mia Howells
Year 6: Kahlis Garforth
We had a presentation about the school bank too. If you would like to open an account please ask for an application form from school.
We are now rolling out the new menus for this term. Mrs Proctor and her ladies have worked hard to create dishes that the children want to eat with lots of the old favourites coming back, including delicious puddings and her famous lasagne! Copies of the menus are displayed around school and on the website.
