Wash and go for firefighters
Date published: 16 September 2009
Firefighters from Rochdale, Littleborough and Heywood will be at their stations this Saturday (19 September) to take part in a charity car wash.
People can clear the summer dust from their cars while having a chat with firefighters about keeping their homes safe.
The event is taking place at fire stations across the UK to raise funds for the Firefighters Charity. In return for cleaning your car, fire-fighters will be asking for a small donation in order to show your support.
County Fire Officer Barry Dixon said: “The National Car Wash Day is a great opportunity for us to raise money for a worthwhile cause which has benefited many firefighters and their families over the years. On Saturday we hope to see thousands of gleaming cars on the streets of Greater Manchester."
Firefighters will be cleaning cars at Heywood, Littleborough and Rochdale fire stations between 10am and 4pm.
