Heywood Community School teacher and candidate on this year's BBC 'Apprentice' programme Noorul Choudhury is competing in Great North Run to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
The would-be entrepreneur is joining up with the charity's running ambassador Nell McAndrew, fellow apprentice candidate Lee McQueen, Sky News weather presenter Isobel Lang and Olympic bronze boxer Tony Jeffries.
Mr Choudhury said: "I am passionate about supporting Cancer Research UK. Cancer affects one in three people at some point in their lifetime. The effects the disease has on patients and their loved ones can be devastating, and I sadly lost my partner to cancer in 2005. However treatments are always improving. Funds raised from events like the Great North Run helps make sure Cancer Research UK's scientists, doctors and nurses are able to continue their vital research into the prevention, treatment and cure of all types of cancer. Please sponsor our team whatever you can, every bit really does help make a difference."
The run takes place on Sunday 20 September.
