Friends of Peine visit Primary Care Trust

Heywood and Peine in Germany have been twin towns for many years and this year, the 40th Anniversary of their bond, the Mayor of Peine, his wife and two of his colleagues will be paying a visit to Heywood.
During their visit the Chairman of the Primary Care Trust (PCT), John Pierce, will be entertaining them at the Rochdale Town Hall on Friday 18 May by giving them an insight into the NHS and how the Primary Care Trust is working towards improving the health of the Borough.
The visitors from Peine will be introduced to staff and key members of the PCT who will be able to highlight some of the many successes achieved in the world of healthcare.
The Patients Council will be on hand to explain to the Mayor and Deputy of Peine how they ensure the patient’s voice is kept at the heart of service redesign improving the patient experience of accessing health services locally.
The newly elected Mayor of Rochdale Borough, Councillor Peter Evans will be joining in the event to celebrate their visit.
Other guests include the Mayor of Sahiwal, Pakistan another of Rochdale’s twin towns who will be visiting the Borough in May.
John Pierce said: “Heywood and Peine have forged a strong relationship over the years and the PCT are delighted to welcome our special guests. We would also like to extend our welcome to our visitors from Sahiwal. It is a rare occasion that we will get to enjoy the company of so many of our international associates on home ground.”
