A 31-year-old man from Middleton has died in hospital after a serious road traffic collision in the early hours of Monday morning (7 September).

Ian Jones was driving a black Porsche Cayenne when it overturned after colliding with a roundabout at the junction of Oldham Way and Featherstall Road North in Oldham at about 2.25am.

Mr Jones died the following day at the Royal Oldham Hospital from the serious head and abdominal injuries that he sustained in the crash.

Mr Jones' family have paid tribute to him, saying: "Ian was a loving dad to his five children Colm, 12, Josh, 10, Ellis, six, Emerson, four, and Poppy, two.

"He leaves behind fiancé Bernadette, mum Lorraine, sister Debbie and brother Andrew and we are missing him already.

"Ian was a dog lover and breeder.

"Ian ran his own company. His hobbies were weightlifting, eating out and motorcycling."

Another man, aged 32, who was a passenger in the car, suffered cuts to his head.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call traffic police on 0161 856 8473.
