Axed radio presenter is back on air
Date published: 07 September 2009
A radio presenter is back on air six weeks after hitting out at perceptions of her strong Rochdale accent when she hosted her breakfast show for the last time.
Liz Kershaw spent her final minutes on her BBC Coventry & Warwickshire show apparently hitting out at a local newspaper, who had recently described her 'distinctive Lancashire accent'.
Yesterday Ms Kershaw was back on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire as host of a new Sunday show, six weeks after she was axed as a breakfast show host.
The BBC cited a 'change in direction' as the reason for Ms Kershaw's removal, but the DJ reacted badly to the news and sent an angry email to her boss with her views on the decision.
