Man charged in connection with screwdriver stabbing

A man has been charged in connection with a screwdriver stabbing in Rochdale.
Daniel Fielding (born 19/03/85) of Eden Street, Falinge, has been charged with wounding with intent and appeared before Rochdale Magistrates Court yesterday, Saturday 5 September.
The charge relates to an incident on Wednesday 12 August, where a 23-year-old man was stabbed with a screwdriver as he went to approach two car thieves on Tweedale Street.
The stab to the chest meant the man needed hospital treatment, but he has since been discharged.
