More GCSE success for Beech House

Beech House pupils celebrate GCSE success.

There was delight at Beech House school as pupils and staff collected their GCSE results.
Of the 22 year 11 pupils taking their exams, 73% got GCSE grades at C or above including English and Maths.

Headteacher Kevin Sartain said: "Once again these were excellent results. The thing with our school is that because we have so few pupils, one person will represent about 3 or 4 per cent, so very few pupils did not achieve and we're delighted with everyones efforts."

The school continues to thrive away from academics, with three pupils fitting in their studies alongside their busy sporting schedules. Alex Topham picked up 9.5 GCSEs and will now go onto become a professional horse rider, Jessica Rigby got 12 A*-C grades at the same time as representing England on the golf course, while Nicole Jackson got 10.5 passes aside from representing her country at ice hockey.

Mr Sartain continued: "This was an exceptional group, who achieved not just academically but also in their personal ambitions."

Most of the Beech House pupils now plan to go on to further education.
