Ride and stride to support churches
Date published: 03 September 2009
Thousands of people are limbering up in readiness for a charity event that helps to fund repairs at crumbling churches and chapels.
Ride and Stride is a sponsored walk or bike ride on Saturday 12 September, which sees participants covering ground from Northumberland to Cornwall with the option of visiting a number of churches along the way.
Organisers are hoping to make £1.9 million from this year’s event and participants can raise money for their local church or district when taking part.
The event, which is supported by The National Churches Trust and County Churches Trusts nationwide, is open to anyone of any age.
