Siddal Moor celebrate GCSE results

Siddal Moor students have reason to celebrate today (27 August) as GCSE results for the school are released. Governors and staff are “incredibly pleased with the schoool’s best ever performance at GCSE”.
44% of the students achieved 5 A*-C grades, including Maths and English, a 10% improvement on last year. The results are evidence of the student’s hard work and commitment which has been well rewarded. Of the many great GCSE performances particular note has to be taken of:
• Matthew Armitage- 6A*, 3A, Distinction and a B.
• Dominic Kay- 4A*, 5A, Distinction and a B
• Sam Devereux- 3A*, 5A, Merit and C
• Ethan Monks- A*,5A, Distinction and B
• Shauna Leebetter- 6.5A
• Ashley Grindrod- A*, 5A
• Juliet Curran- 2A*, 3A, 4B
• Jessica Langley- A*, 6A, B
In a statement from the school, they said: “Although boys appear to lead the field this year in terms of GCSE performance the girls, as a whole, followed the national trend and did better”.
