Cardinal Langley GCSE results well above national average

Pupils at Cardinal Langley RC High School were all smiles this morning as they collected their GCSE results.
The school has improved on last years results placing them well above the national average.
Head teacher Colin Mason said: “Our students and their teachers are delighted with their performance and are now looking forward to extremely successful Post 16 Studies.
Mr. Mason attributes this outstanding success to the unique partnership which the school develops between staff, students and their parents.
He added: “Cardinal Langley staff deserves strong congratulations for their contribution to this partnership.
“They go out of their way to help their students and are often to be seen running extra classes at the end of the day.”
One of the top achievers from Cardinal Langley is 16 year old Rebecca Simpson, she achieved 7 A* grades and 3A’s. Rebecca who will be staying on at the schools sixth form said: “I am really pleased and I feel like all of my hard work has finally paid off.”
Head of Year 11 Mr Cahill said: “All the children here are brilliant and they really deserve the results, they have all worked hard for five years and in particularly the last two years.”
Another top performer at the school is Kim Diep, after working very hard Kim achieved 4A* grades and 6 A’s. In September Kim will be attending Loreto College, Manchester to study Maths, Geography, Biology and Chemistry at A level.
She said: “I am really overwhelmed with my results and I will be celebrating tonight.”
Friends Alex Burke and Jake Wilson celebrated together after opening their results. Alex said: “I was so nervous last night but I am looking forward to carrying on at Sixth Form here.” Jake will be moving on to pastures new at Hopwood Hall to do a diploma in Joinery.
Mr Mason concluded: “The level of application and determination also shown by students, as always, contributed to the many impressive individual and collective successes of this year group.”
