Date published: 14 May 2007

Year five and year six pupils in primary schools across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale were asked to represent what ‘Smoke Freedom’ means to them as part of a poster competition run by TASK Stop Smoking Service.

Budding artists were asked to put their creative skills to the test and design a poster that reflected what being ‘smoke free’ meant to them.

Judges were looking for designs that expressed the positive impacts of becoming smoke free in the run up to the Smoking Ban due to come into force on 1 July 2007. Hannah Yoeman of Littleborough Community School came out on top out of lot of submissions.
