Green light for Hareshill business park
Date published: 25 August 2009
Rochdale Council has given the go ahead for a business and distribution park in Hareshill.
Peel Holdings submitted a planning application for the £15 million development, which could bring 500 jobs to Heywood.
The 347,416sq ft park has been given the green light by Council planning officers and backed by Rochdale Development Agency.
Peel Holdings development manager, Richard Mawdsley said: "Our development will increase the industrial and distribution offer of the area and will attract new businesses boosting the employment opportunities in Heywood.
"The site has been earmarked for development for some time, but this is a major hurdle overcome in generating a range of jobs in what remain tough economic times."
Peel will now submit more detailed planning applications so that they can start working on the site.
