Show owner appeals against license refusal
Date published: 25 August 2009
A Castleton shop owner has appealed a Council decision to refuse him a license to sell alcohol.
Faraaz Butt, who owns Eurosave on Manchester Road, was due before Rochdale Licensing Magistrates today (Tuesday 25 August) for a pre-trial review, with the full appeal hearing set to take place later this year.
Police advised the Licensing Committee to refuse Mr Butt's application for a license because the shop was the source of anti-social incidents when it did have permission to sell alcohol.
Mr Butt says that he will use CCTV and employ security staff in order to avoid similar incidents in future.
