Jimmy on DVD

Date published: 21 August 2009

Irish Comedian and Rochdale's adopted son Jimmy Cricket is making a special appearance at the Royal Court Theatre in Bacup to record his first DVD.

Jimmy has recorded a video and three audio CD’s in the past, but this is a new adventure into the world of DVD.

Although ticket sales are going towards the production costs of the DVD recording, Jimmy still expects to make a profit from the evening, and these proceeds will go to the Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.

Jimmy said: “This is exciting venture and it is shaping up to be a magical night as all the parts are now in place. We are just now making sure that we get a full house, and there are limited tickets available for anyone who is interested in joining in the fun of the evening.

“I am really excited to have got an industry leading production company from Cheshire who are going to be bringing all the production equipment in for the evening, including a six camera shoot. I am also indebted to Robert from local company Prescenium scenery of Littleborough for letting me have some stunning sets and he’s not charging me a penny as the Springhill Hospice is near to his heart.

“It is also good that I have found a super venue local to me, so that I can keep on top of all the coordination and organisation on my doorstep”

Springhill Hospice’s fundraising manager Ian Jenkins said: “It is great that Jimmy feels able to support the Hospice again by arranging for our charity to be the main cause to benefit from his event.

“Jimmy has been a loyal and faithful supporter of the Hospice for a number of years; in fact, he has never had to think twice whenever I have asked him to do any fundraising events for the Hospice.

“If anyone wants a ticket to help support the Hospice and Jimmy on this occasion, then they can purchase them through the Hospice.”
