Arts, Crafts and Heritage

The Rochdale Rotary Club is organising it's third annual Arts and Crafts Fair in the Great Hall, Rochdale Town Hall, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Sunday 13 September.

There will be 30 stalls that will range from jewellery, accessories, paintings and wood carvings. The organisers of the event have requested that people come in period costume. The Rochdale Youth Orchestra will also feature at the event.

There will be photos taken, in the costume of your choice. The costumes can be anything which represent a period of time from crinolines, cloth cap and shawl, Elvis jacket and drainpipes to Twiggy Hot pants. The pictures, which will be taken in front of the town hall, will be entered into a competition. The winner will take home a life-size canvas portrait, complete with wooden frame.

The Arts and Crafts fair event coincides with the Heritage Weekend, a once-a-year chance to discover hidden architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities which bring to life local history and culture.

The annual national event takes place from Thursday 10 September-Sunday 13 September.
