Fire engine.
A carelessly disguarded cigarette led to large fire at a house in Middleton on Saturday afternoon (8 August).
At around 1pm fire crews from Blackley and Heywood were called to The Downs and found a severe blaze in the bedroom of the property.
Crews used breathing apparatus and high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire. A positive pressure ventilitation fan was also used to reduce smoke damage to the property.
No-one was injured as a result of the incident.
