Celebrating Young People in Milnrow Memorial Park
Date published: 08 August 2009
Glorious sunshine and lots of fun activities drew families in their hundreds to Milnrow Memorial Park for the ‘Celebrating Young People’ event.
Attractions included fairground rides, a climbing column, a bouncy castle, face painting and live music from Wardle Band.
A number of organisations attended to give taster sessions and introduce new activities including: Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Mort-On-Sport and Voices4Wellbeing.
Youth groups from across the Borough had made large size ‘model chickens’ and these took pride of place in the park.
Mayor Keith Swift said: “It’s a beautiful sunny day and great to see so many families out having fun. The weather has been very kind, in contrast to my holiday in Devon and Cornwall last week, which was a wash out!”
