Deputy Mayor elected to Local Government Association

Deputy Mayor Zulf Ali
Rochdale’s Deputy Mayor and education boss, Councillor Zulf Ali, has been voted onto the Local Government Association's Regeneration and Transport Board.
The Regeneration and Transport Board has responsibility for LGA activity on the economic development and regeneration of communities, transport, and relations with Regional Development and other relevant agencies.
Councillor Ali said: “We are at an absolutely critical time for both transport and regeneration in Rochdale and I am determined to make sure Rochdale’s concerns are heard.”
Rochdale MP Paul Rowen congratulated Councillor Ali, and said: “It is absolutely vital during these hard times that Rochdale has representation at the top table of local government and I am sure Councillor Ali will be playing a key part in promoting Rochdale and its regeneration opportunities.”
