Man charged following fatal RTC in Heywood

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Heywood.
Christopher Bennett (05/01/1980), of Kenyon Lane, Middleton, has been charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention whilst under the influence and driving without insurance.
He is due to appear at Rochdale Magistrates' Court on 17 August 2009.
At about 5.15am on Saturday 31 January 2009, police were called to Whittle Lane following reports a car had collided with a wall.
Officers attended and discovered a Fiat Toledo had collided a wall outside a house.
William Brookes, 29, from Middleton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men, aged 19 and 28, who were also in the car, were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries, which weren't life threatening.
