£19M house building programme 'kickstarted'

Jim Dobbin MP has welcomed the Government funding to kickstart a house building programme across the borough.

Mr Dobbin says the funding will create local construction jobs and build local housing at a time when both are needed and "shows the government is listening to peoples concerns and responding".

The provisional allocations for the Borough of Rochdale (below) amount to a total value of investment is £19m, to support the construction of 418 homes by March 2011.

Unity Mill, Heywood - Countryside Properties - 50 homes
Victory Works, Heywood - Countryside Properties - 53 homes
Winderemere Park, Middleton - Lovell Partnerships - 50 homes
Birch Hill, Rochdale - Persimmon Homes - 50 homes
Dale Mill, Rochdale - Artisan H - 74 homes
Well'ith Lane, Rochdale - Tower Gate Developments - 141 homes
