Anti-social behaviour - Green Meadow
Date published: 25 July 2009
Residents on Green Meadow (Birch View Estate), Smallbridge are asking why nothing appears to be being done about anti-social behaviour on the estate.
Stephen Gartside says that a small number of residents make the lives of the majority "miserable" by kicking footballs against empty properties shutters and our windows, even though no ball games signs are clearly visible; mini moto bikes racing around so we can't open our windows even on the hottest days.
He adds: "Community police officers circulate the estate but never seen walking through it, and there is a slow response when calling the police.
"This could be a peaceful and well sought after estate, instead of four empty houses on our street alone, all because a few ruin it for the many.
"Maybe cctv is the answer, it worked on Kirkholt, where we never had any trouble."
