Children get set for the reading challenge
The annual Summer Reading Challenge run by all local libraries is now underway, with nearly 200 children signing up within the first few days.
Children will soon be sharing their views on the books they’ve read up to now.
The Summer Reading Challenge is a government initiative to encourage children of all ages to read more during the summer holidays. And there’s still time to sign up and start the challenge – simply visit your local library and ask about the Summer Reading Challenge.
To complete the challenge children need to visit a library up to 4 times during the summer holidays and read up to 6 books to complete the challenge. ‘Quest-seekers’ is this years theme, and there are some great prizes and giveaways up for grabs.
The Summer Reading Challenge runs until the 19 September, so visit your local library and get your children reading.
