Man charged with town centre shooting

A man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Rochdale town centre last week.
Khalil Mohammed, 27, of South Street, is appearing before the courts this morning (Wednesday 15 July), charged with attempted murder.
The charge relates to a shooting at about 12.50am on Friday 10 July 2009, on Yorkshire Street, Rochdale.
Officers attended and discovered a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries. He remains in a stable condition.
A second man, aged 27, with gunshot wounds to his hand was later discovered at a hospital in Lancashire.
