Accident leaves worker in hospital

A worker at a factory in Spotland is recovering in hospital following an accident this morning (Tuesday 14 July).
The un-named 54-year old man was using a handgrinder at Carter Origin Ltd, on Holmes Street, when he suffered serious neck injuries.
He underwent emergency surgery at Rochdale Infirmary after being treated at the scene by paramedics.
Two Health Safety inspectors were carrying out enquiries at the site earlier this afternoon.
Police are not treating the incident with suspicion.
