Easy does it: The cash collection van is pushed by a group of helpers
Shoppers stopped in amusement this morning (Monday 13 July) as bank staff tried to help a cash collection man who locked himself out of his van.
Workers from Yorkshire Bank, along with traffic wardens and a member of the public, rocked and pushed the vehicle to try and activate the high security system, after it malfunctioned and locked up with a cash safe inside.
The group spent over half an hour trying to help the bemused driver, who had to call for assistance.
John Boyle told Rochdale Online News: “It was quite amusing really, he locked himself out and, the next thing you see is traffic wardens and bank staff all pushing at it.”
