Date published: 06 July 2009
National Grid has announced a £76,000 investment in improving Rochdale's gas network.
The national power and gas transmission network operator is renewing 370 metres of gas mains as part of a £94 million package of improvements to the North West's gas supply network.
The company said that simultaneous work to replace cast iron mains with new polyethylene pipe will take place at Smithy Bridge Road/Henry Street, Littleborough, and Kiln Lane, Milnrow.
Both projects will begin on 20 July 20 and are due to be completed by the end of August.
