Nine males will appear before Rochdale Magistrates today (Monday 6 July) charged in connection with a gang attack on a teenage boy in Denehurst Park last year.

Three of the defendants are facing an attempted murder charge, after a 17-year-old boy was violently assaulted and left with bleeding on the brain, which required emergency surgery.

Ajay Singh 18, of Fulford Street, Old Trafford, and two 17-year-old boys from Old Trafford, were charged with attempted murder, violent disorder, robbery and affray.
Faizan Samirudin, 18, of Grosvenor House Mews, Crumpsall, was charged with attempted murder in May 2008, and has now been further charged with violent disorder, robbery and affray.

Three 17-year-old boys from Old Trafford, a 17-year-old boy from Whalley Range, and a 17-year-old boy from Stretford were all charged with violent disorder, robbery and affray.
