NHS Chief to say goodbye

Date published: 03 July 2009

NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale has announced that its current Chief Executive, Trevor Purt, will be leaving the organisation to join the new management team for NHS Wales and lead one of its new six fully integrated NHS Health Boards.

Trevor has led NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale since it was formed in 2006 and was Chief Executive of Rochdale PCT three years prior. This promotion will see him lead four acute hospitals, eight community hospitals and all community and primary care staff; a workforce of 9,500 across three counties.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support over almost six years at both NHS HMR and Rochdale PCT," he said. "We have made considerable headway to improving local healthcare since NHS HMR was formed in 2006 and I am proud to have led such a forward thinking organisation."

John Pierce, chair of NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, added: "Trevor has added a huge amount of value to developing health services in the borough over the past six years and I am sure everyone will join me in wishing him well for the future."
